The Lost Children of Georgia
RESULTS: Adolescents who have access to the Floyd County Teen Plus Center, which encourages education and access to all methods of birth control, showed an exceedingly low rate of teen pregnancies, less than half that of the Floyd County teens who were never seen at the Center.
PURPOSE: First it was the children of Rockdale County Georgia2 who fell victim to politics influencing their access to health care, now it is all children in Georgia whose health and very lives are being endangered. In the wake of the current administration’s recent decision to slash funding to teen health programs comes this information, these Teen Plus programs work and they work surprisingly well. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate one of the 39 established adolescent pregnancy prevention programs, the Floyd County Teen Plus Center in Rome, Georgia.
